Okinawan Journal of Island Studies (OJIS) is a peer-reviewed English journal published by the Research Institute for Islands and Sustainability (RIIS) at the University of the Ryukyus located in Okinawa, Japan.
The journal welcomes papers with topics that deal with interests and/or issues that are parallel to those faced in various islands from a variety of perspectives.
In addition to “General Topics” on islands issues, each volume will have a “Special Topic” on a particular issue important to the islands.
OJIS will have sections for Research Papers, Forum “Miduri” and Book Reviews for various non-scholarly writings/works, and we invite suitable submissions to each.

Expected Publication: March of every year
Submission Deadline (General Topic): June 30th of every year (Japan Standard Time)
